Phytotherapy

In many chronic illnesses, a result of a lack of corporal substances or body energy, acupuncture alone is not sufficient to compensate the lack. A deficiency of Qi, Sang, Ying and Yang can be treated by taking preparations of plants for several weeks or months. In most cases the longer the illness, the longer the treatment must be followed.

Chinese phytotherapy uses mostly parts of dried plants such as roots, bark, fruits, seeds, flowers, leaves and stems but also minerals and sometimes products of animal origin. The plants are instilled and drunk as an infusion every day according to the Chinese tradition. In Switzerland preference is given to granules, extract, pills, and hydrophilic solutions a more modern way to follow a treatment.

Protected species of plants and animals are no longer used.
